摘　　要： 《包法利夫人》是 19世纪中期法国批判现实主义作家居斯达夫·福楼拜的代表作之一 ,小说描述了女主人公艾玛一生为了追求虚无的浪漫爱情生活 ,最后因债务缠身 ,无力解脱而服毒自尽的过程。本文认真细致地分析了小说的思想内涵、作者的艺术风格和人物的典型塑造等 ,对我们更好地理解这部 19世纪法国批判现实主义的又一伟大著作具有积极作用。 Madame Bovary is one of the representative works by French writer Gustave Flaubert, a critical realist in the mid 19 th century. This full length novel reveals that Emma, the heroine, has been pursuing an empty romance, but she has to be tied down to debts and fall into an abyss of death in the end. Through a detailed analysis of its social significance, the writer's artistic styles and modeling of typical characters, this paper will surely shed much light on the understanding of Madame Bovary, another great work of French critical realism in the 19 th century.
