摘　　要： 奥尔罕·帕慕克多次以伊斯坦布尔为背景创作小说,他用忧伤的笔触勾勒出这座城市的历史轮廓,目的是让读者了解曾经有过荟萃东、西方文明的奥斯曼土耳其文化,东方与西方并非对立的两极,古老的东方传统与现代西方文明能够交融共存。他同时希望土耳其人在实现经济现代化时,不再因为东西方文化孰是孰非的选择而顾此失彼。 Orham Parmuk created many novels using Istanbul as his setting. With his melancholic description,readers can experience the great Ottoman culture that was once a combination of Eastern and Western culture. The East and the West are not two opposing forces. Parmuk hopes that when Turkey is on the way to modernization,the Eastern and the Western culture can coexist in harmony.
