摘　　要： 从五个部分全面、立体、多侧面、多层次剖析麦克卢汉的思想、人格和遗产,力求对他有一个超越前人的比较公允的评价和把握。旨在说明,只要多读,这本"天书"定能读懂;过去读不懂他,那是受时代的局限,或我们个人知识结构的局限。随着数字时代来临,他的书翻译过来之后就比较容易读了。 This paper attempts to decipher the Sphinx of the late Marshall McLuhan. It falls into five sections titled: Controversial Status, Two Waves of McLuhan Craze, 'Star' Scholar, Split Personality and Scholarship Legacy. The purpose is to give a fairly comprehensive, Multiperspectival, Multilevel and hopefully penetrating appraisal of his transcending uptodate limited vision. A strong message is given here that with the digital world unfolding before us, a new horizon is emerging where McLuhan is getting increasingly more personal and accessible. 
