摘　　要： 本文讨论了在翻译一些术语时的一种有效的手段—语义溯源。通过分析linguistic turn和metalanguage两个术语的翻译过程,作者认为有时候语义溯源是翻译工作中一项不可或缺的基本任务。 The present article discusses the effectiveness of etymological tracking in terminology translation. By observing the translating into Chinese of two terms, viz. linguistic turn and metalanguage as two case examples, the author illustrates how the practice of etymological tracking can help in deciding upon a semantically acceptable translation.
