摘　　要： Being the first object-based multimedia compression standard in the world,MPEG-4 defines facial animeation tools.This paper presents MPEG-4 facial animation techniques,including neutral state facial model,facial animation parameters and facial defintion parameters.It also presents the design of a MPEG-4 based facial animation system we are realizing and the main problems we must solve.
