摘　　要： 以碑刻资料为中心 ,结合其他民间文献 ,有助于了解 1 6世纪潮汕社会史的两个重要问题 :地方官绅关系和家族史建构。运用碑刻资料研究地域历史应该注意把不同碑文视为不同作者对某一事件的不同解读和阐释 ; Tablet inscriptions in combination with folk literature can help understand two important problems in sixteenth_century Chaozhou and Shantou society: the relationship between officers and gentry in the locality, and the construction of the history of a certain family. This paper holds that tablet materials, while being used to survey regional history, must not be used singly, and that two different tablet materials, even if related to the same author, should be looked upon as two different interpretations for the same event by two different authors.
