摘　　要： 学习一种语言首先是从词开始,要掌握一门语言首先要对其构词法有系统的认识。文章运用对比分析的方法,对英语和汉语两种语言的构词方法进行全面的探讨研究。通过对英汉语中共有的派生法、复合法、转换法、缩略法四种构词法进行分析,旨在揭示这两种语言在构词规律上的异同,从而达到促进英语和对外汉语教学的目的。 This paper is an attempt to compare and contrast the word-formation of English and Chinese on affixation, compounding, conversion and shortening so that the similarities and differences on word-formation between these two languages can be revealed. In this way, this article aims at improving the teaching and learning of English and Chinese.
