摘　　要： 俚语是亚文化的语言载体,是英语语言中举足轻重的部分,它以其新颖、活泼、生动、表现力强等特点在日常交际中广泛流行。该文根据系统功能语言学纯理功能的思想研究英语俚语,强调英语俚语是表达人际意义的重要资源,并具体分析英语俚语在情态、评价、语气和人称等层面表达人际意义中所起的作用。 Slangs, as a language carrier of the subculture, are a very important part in English language. They are widely used in the daily communication because of their originality, vividness and strong expressiveness. This paper attempts to study English slangs from the Systemic Functional perspective, arguing that slangs are a resource for making interpersonal meanings. It analyzes the role played by slangs in expressing interpersonal meanings from the aspects of modality, evaluation, mood and person.
