摘　　要： 英语阅读是大学生获取百科知识的重要手段。重视提高阅读能力是大学英语教学中不容忽视的重要任务。针对目前大学英语阅读教学中出现的问题、状况及成因,该文提出通过加强英语课外阅读的组织与评估环节,促使学生加强英语阅读训练,提高英语阅读能力,以满足信息全球化、经济全球化的时代要求。 English Reading is the most important means of obtaining encyclopedic information.It is a significant task to improve reading ability in English teaching in college.The problems,status and factors that occur in teaching English reading have been discussed in the paper.It is pointed out that students' English reading ability can be enhanced by organizing and assessing after-class English reading,thus meeting the requirements of the new information-intensive economy and globalization.
