摘　　要： 约翰·奥斯汀(John Langshaw Austin,1911-1960)是20世纪50年代英国具有重要影响力的哲学权威之一,他首创性地提出了言语行为理论,成为日常语言哲学中牛津学派的重要领军人物。他敢于质疑传统的哲学观点,采用科学的语言现象学方法对日常语言现象展开细致入微的观察。他首先划分了施为句和叙事句,把人们的话语同人的行为有机结合起来,而后提出了言语行为三分说,极大地改变了人们对语言及其外部世界之间关系的看法。言语行为理论是奥斯汀对语言哲学和语言学界做出的杰出贡献。 John Langshaw Austin is one of the most influential philosophical authorities in 1950s’England.He initiated the study of speech act and established the well-known Speech Act Theory.He challenged the traditional philosophy of language and adopted a new method to investigate the research of language,that is,he combined the study of language with the study of human behaviors.“To say something is to do something”is the core of Austin’s Theory.The distinguishing between performa-tives and constatives and the establishment of Speech Act Theory makes a great contribution to the development of linguistic phi-losophy.
