摘　　要： 威廉·卡洛斯·威廉斯是美国现代新诗的一代宗师,受庞德及意象主义的影响甚深。他的小品诗形式自由,语言精炼,贴近生活。他善于从平凡的事物中发掘诗意,这使他诗歌的意象生动坚实,给读者以鲜明的印象。意象美的营造是构成威廉斯小品诗魅力的一个主要原因。 As the forerunner of modern American poetry, William Carlos Williams has been deeply influenced by Ezra Pound as well as Imagism. His short lyrical poems are lively and succinct, with free expression very close to real life. The vivid and solid images drawn from everyday life leave a deep impression upon the reader. The aesthetical appeal of imagery accounts greatly for the popularity enjoyed by his poems.
