摘　　要： 中介变量(mediator)指能够传递自变量对因变量影响的变量。中介变量具有解释自变量为什么会对因变量起作用的功能。行为科学研究中从S-R模型到S-O-R模型的发展过程说明,中介变量的引入,往往使科学研究摆脱困境和走向深入。研究分析了中介变量的性质,介绍了中介作用的统计方法,还通过结构公式模型分析实例,讨论了中介变量在理论发展过程中的重要作用。 A mediator refers to a variable that can transmit the influence of an independent variable on a dependent variable. A mediator explains why an independent variable has an effect on a dependent variable.The development from the S-R model to S-O-R model in behavioral science indicates that introduction of a mediator often helps scientific research to get out of a jam and to go further.In this paper,the nature of a mediator was analyzed and computation methods were introduced.The function of the mediator in theory development was also discussed through an empirical research example with structural equation modeling.
