Testing refers to the objective and standardized measurement of behavioral samples, while experimenting is a process in which independent variables are manipulated and the change of dependent variables are observed in a controlled condition. Therefore, the validity of a test and validity of an experiment are quite different concepts. In this paper the discussion was focused on the test validity, including the meaning of content validity, empirical validity and construct validity as well as the qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods of these validities. It is suggested that researchers should avoid 1) failing to differentiate the test validity and the experiment validity, 2) just using the evaluation of the content validity to replace the evaluations of other sorts of validity, and 3) doing validity checking on the questions which need not to check.
