摘　　要： 段玉裁的“以声为义”说体现在两个方面:“依据声旁,由声求义”;“不限形体,于音得义”。本文就《说文解字注》中的声训条例,对“以声为义”说及其得失作了论述。 Duan Yucai’s theory of "Yi Sheng Wei Yi"(以声为义)has two implications: seeking the meaning of a pictophonetic Chinese character from its phonetic element,and seeking the meaning of a Chinese character from its pronunciation without being restricted by its written form.This article discusses the theory of Yi Sheng Wei Yi and it’s merits and demerits on the basis of the rules of "Sheng Xun"(声训),or phonetic interpretation of the meaning of Chinese characters,as put forward in Shuo Wen Jie Zi Zhu(Notes on The Principles of Composition of Chinese Characters).
