摘　　要： 从颜色词翻译的角度入手,通过大量的译例,讨论严复标准与功能对等标准的适用范围及各自的解释力问题:对代表物理属性的颜色词和联想及引申意义一致的颜色词,在翻译时,严复标准和功能对等标准具有同样的解释力;针对联想及引申意义不同的颜色词,功能对等标准较严复标准则有更广泛的解释力。 The application and limit of 'exactness,fluency and elegancy' and 'functional equivalence' are discussed through the translation of colors.'exactness,fluency and elegancy' and 'functional equivalence' have the same applicability in translation of colors,which represent physical meanings and have the similarity of associating and extending meanings.The applicability of 'functional equivalence' is broader than that of 'exactness,fluency and elegancy' when translating colors that have different associating and extending meanings.We suggest a good translation criteria should hold universally.
