摘　　要： 本研究旨在探索中国学习者英语提升动词运用能力的发展路径,找出他们在运用中的难点。145名在校学生和22位英语母语者参加并完成了本研究设计的句子填充任务。定量分析结果发现:中国学习者英语提升动词运用能力呈非线性的发展路径;虚指主语it和there是他们习得提升动词的困难所在。这些发现对英语教材编写和课堂教学均有启示作用。 This paper aims to investigate the developmental route of and the difficulties in using English raising verbs by Chinese EFL learners. 145 Chinese students and 22 English native speakers participated in the present study. Quantitative analysis was conducted on the data collected from the participants' fill-inthe-blank test, and the results revealed that Chinese EFL learners followed a non-linear route of development in their use of English raising verbs, and that the expletives it and there are the major difficulties in their acquisition. These findings have some implications on both the compilation of English coursebooks and EFL teaching in China.
