电泳粒子的制备及其在电子墨水中的应用

摘  要: 以苯乙烯和二乙烯苯为共聚单体,乙醇为反应介质,聚乙烯吡咯烷酮为稳定剂,偶氮二异丁腈为引发剂,油红G为染色剂,甲基丙烯酸为电荷控制剂,采用分散聚合法制备了聚合物电泳粒子。测定了聚合物电泳粒子的密度、电泳淌度、染料包裹率和粒径分布等性能。通过红外光谱、扫描电镜和热重分析等手段表征了聚合物电泳粒子的化学结构、表面形状、粒径及粒径分布和热稳定性。通过复凝聚法制备了包含聚合物电泳粒子的电子墨水。结果表明制备的聚合物电泳粒子密度为1.07g/m3,可与分散介质匹配。油红G包裹率为69.96%,聚合物电泳粒子呈粉红色。聚合物电泳粒子固体状态下粒径为1.0μm^1.5μm,分散状态下粒径为1.0μm^2.0μm,分布狭窄。电泳淌度为-0.03942m2 V-1s-1,聚合物电泳粒子在微胶囊内具有可逆的电泳行为,可用于电子墨水。 In ethanol medium polymeric electrophoretic particles were prepared by dispersion polymerization of styrene and divinylbenzene with polyvinylpyrrolidone as stabilizer, 2, 2'-azobis (2- methylpropionitrile) as initiator, oil red G as red coloring agent, and methylacrylic acid as charge control agent. The properties of the polymeric electrophoretic particles, such as density, electrophoretic mobility, incorporation ratio of oil red G, particle size and particle size distrubition, were measured. The chemical structure, surface morphology, particle size, particle size distrubition and thermal stability of the polymeric electrophoretic particles were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and Thermo gravimetric analysis, respectively. Electronic Ink containing the polymeric particles was prepared by coacervation. It is shown that density of the polymeric electrophoretic particles is 1.07g/m3 , which matchs with the dispersion medium. Polymeric electrophoretic particles are pink when incorporation ratio of oil red G is 69.96%. Particle size distribution is narrow either the polymeric electrophoretic particles disperse in the mixed medium or not, it ranges from 1.0μm to 2.0μm and 1.0μm to 1.5btm, respectively. Electrophoretic mobility of the polymeric electrophoretic particles is --0. 03942mZV l s-l. The particles have reversible electric response in microcapsules, indicating a applicability in electronic ink.
