摘　　要： 公正是社会制度的首要美德已被普遍认可,它是衡量一个社会最基本的价值标准,也是其他"基本善"存在的前提。作为社会制度子系统的现代大学制度,其价值追求是多元的。大学的使命和现代大学制度的属性、发展的实践历程,都决定了现代大学制度必须把公正作为首要的价值追求,只有公正才是现代大学制度的首要美德。 Justice is the first virtue of social system that, has been generally recognized. It is a measure of a society most basic standards of value, but also other ＂basic goodness＂ premise of existence. As a social subsystem of modem university system, its value pursuit is multiple. The University＇s mission,the attributes of the modem uni- versity system and the practical process of development, have decided the modern university system must take justice as the first value pursuit, and only justice is the first virtue of modern university system.
