含稀土元素LDHs对PBS膨胀阻燃体系的协效作用

摘  要: 将稀土元素La引入碳酸根型镁铝锌层状双羟基金属氧化物(LDHs)层板中,合成了晶态结构规整的含稀土元素LDHs(MgAlZnLa-CO3LDHs),将含稀土元素LDHs、膨胀阻燃剂(IFR)和聚丁二酸丁二醇酯(PBS)熔融共混制备出新型PBS膨胀阻燃体系,研究了PBS膨胀阻燃体系的阻燃性能和热性能。结果表明:含稀土元素LDHs的添加量为1%(阻燃剂的总添加量为20%)时PBS阻燃阻燃体系的极限氧指数(LOI)达到33%,垂直燃烧测试达到UL 94 V-0级别;LOI不仅取决于残炭量,还与燃烧炭层的结构有关;含稀土元素LDHs的加入能提高膨胀碳层的致密度和强度,燃烧形成致密度高的碳层能明显降低热释放速率和烟生成速率,有效地降低可燃小分子和烟尘的释放,使膨胀阻燃效率提高。 The layered double hydroxides containing rare earth element (MgAIZnLa-CO3 LDHs) with different proportions of metal ions were prepared successfully by the constant pH coprecipitation method. Ammonium polyphosphate, Melamine, and MgAIZnLa-CO3 LDHs were added in poly (butylene succinate) via melt blending to obtain the novel intumescent flame retardant poly (butylene succinate) (IFR-PBS) composites. The study on the effect of MgAlZnLa-CO3 LDHs on thermal and flame retardant properties of IFR-PBS composites was investigated. It was revealed that IFR-PBS composites can achieve the goal of vertical flammability (UL94) V-0 rate and the limiting oxygen index (LOI) value of 33% when the content of MgAlZnLa-CO3 LDHs was 1% (the total loading of flame retardant was 20%). The LOI of IFR-PBS com- posites depended not only on the amount of the char, but also on the structure of the char layer. The addi- tion of MgAlZnLa-CO3 LDHs could promote the formation of graphite structures on the outer surface of the char layer to improve its strength and compactness markedly. Cone calorimeter test results also showed that the carbon layer of high density due to combustion can effectively reduce the release of flam- mable small molecules and soot as a result of the decrease of the heat release rate and smoke produc- tion rate.
