In the history of western ideology, sophists are an important force, which originates from the superior social environment of Athens. On the one hand, early sophists are professional teachers; on the other hand, they're free intellectuals. This double identity makes sophists free from the social bondage. With a view of freedom, rationality, and reality, they reflect and analyze the problems on Education. Probing into the cause and historical influence of these free sophists is of profound significance for us to recognize the teachers' individual identity and professional connotation.
