摘　　要： 十七届六中全会审议通过的《决定》指明了语言文字事业在社会主义文化建设中的战略地位和基础作用。认清语言文字发展现状,理清语言文字发展与文化建设的关系,发挥语言文字的文化建设功能,对于湖南省社会文化建设具有重要的实践意义。 The Decision approved by the sixth plenary session of the 17th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China（CPC） indicates a strategic position and the fundamental role of the cause of language in the construction of socialist culture.To understand the present situation of language development,clarify the relationship between language and culture,and exert the language function of cultural construction,has important practical significance for the social and cultural construction of Hunan province.
