摘 要: 基于英语通用语(ELF)视角研究目前英语教学的发展趋势,对于应对英语全球化为非英语国家英语教育带来的挑战具有重要意义。作者通过阐述英语通用语教学观,指出和传统的EFL教学模式相比,英语通用语范式下的英语教学强调语言交际的有效性、语用策略的灵活性和文化意识的多元性。作者认为ELF英语教学观对于促进我国英语教学实践具有积极意义:英语教学应在培养学生语言能力的同时,培养其世界公民的素质;在强调标准英语的同时兼顾其他英语变体;在课堂教学中英语和课程内容并重;在语言测评中语言形式和交际能力并重。 Facing the challenge posed by globalization to non-English speaking countries, it is of great significance to adopt the perspective of English as a lingua franca in studying the development trend of English teaching. With a review on pedagogical research in ELF, the author shows that compared with traditional EFL model in pedagogy, ELF teaching model focuses more on intelligibility in communication, adaptability in pragmatic strategies and an awareness of multicultural setting in global lingua franca, which will lend some inspiration to the innovation of English teaching in China. It is believed that English teaching should aim at cultivating students' language ability as well as enhancing their overall quality as world citizens. More consideration should be given to other English varieties than standard British or American English though it still works as the core of English. Meanwhile, content-and- English-integrated learning can be adopted in classroom teaching, and in language assessment, communication competence should be valued as well as the form of the language.
