摘 要: 通过对中国学者所撰写的英文科技论文进行主位推进模式研究,笔者发现中国学者所著语篇中的主位推进模式缺乏多样性。其原因可归结于两种语言的不同特点,中文语篇多为并列结构,把分句、从句或短语依次排列而不用连词或从属连词,英文语篇多使用从属结构,通过连词连接语篇。研究发现延续型主位推进模式是中国学者撰写英文科技论文时最常用的模式,这可部分归因于科技语篇的特点。基于上述发现,英语教师应该在教学过程中向学生传授主位推进的概念和模式,并且训练学生使用各种主位推进模式。 From the study of thematic progression in English scientific texts by Chinese scholars,it’s revealed that there is very little variety in the use of thematic progression. This can be attributed to the great differences between Chinese and English,which are featured by parataxis and hypotaxis respectively. The continuous pattern is observed to be the most commonly used partly due to the stylistic features of scientific texts. English teachers should introduce to the students the notion and the basic patterns of thematic progression and train them in the use of thematic progression.
