摘　　要： 阿瑟·密勒的戏剧以其精心刻画的"小人物",穿越时空的舞台场景,多种现代舞台艺术手法的灵活运用,引人共鸣的故事情节著称。《美国大钟》是密勒70年代末、80年代初的一部重要作品。该剧作为一部"轻歌舞剧",继承并发展了古希腊歌队的表演形式。本文试从歌队的结构功能、音乐及歌队长的作用三方面对比密勒歌队与古希腊歌队的异同,分析其在现代舞台表演中的作用。 Arthur Miller＇s plays are famous for carving middle and low class characters,building unbounded time and space stage-setting,adopting various types of stage techniques to depict resonant story.The American Clock is one of Miller＇s important plays written in 1980s.As vaudeville,the play inherits the spirit of Greece chorus as form of play construction and stage expression.This article attempts to compare the functions between Miller＇s chorus and the ancient Greece chorus,analyze the effect of chorus on stage acting.
