摘　　要： 对茂名市2005—2011年度专利申请与授权数量进行统计分析,并横向比较茂名市与广东省发达地区、粤西各市的专利申请、授权情况。在分析茂名市专利申请、授权的现状及存在问题的基础上,提出发挥区域优势、加快实施知识产权战略,政府加大资金和政策扶持力度、增强企事业单位的专利创造能力,建立和完善知识产权保护体系、提高知识产权管理和服务水平等建议。 This paper makes a statistical analysis of patent application and authorization in the city of Maoming during the years from 2005 to 2011, and makes a comparison of patent application and authorization between other developed areas in Guandong and western Guangdong Province. Based on the present conditions and existing problems in patent application and authorization, this paper gives some suggestions as follows： exerting regional advantages, accelerating the implementation of intellectual property strategy, giving more support on funding and policy to enhance the enterprises ＇ ability to create patents, establishing and perfecting the intellectual property protection system to improve intellectual property management and service levels.
