摘　　要： 城镇化,不仅仅是城镇人口的增多,不仅仅是物质经济的现代化;城镇化最核心、最深层、最具长久生命力者,则是城镇人群素质的现代化。而要实现城镇人群素质的现代化,就必须科学保护、开发、利用历史文化资源。因为城镇化与人群素质的现代化,与历史文化资源保护、开发和利用之间存在着密不可分的互动关系。珠江三角洲地区城镇化要朝着健康、科学的轨道迈进,就必须处理好这两者之间的关系。 Urbanization does not mean sheer growth of population in urban areas, or the modernization of material economy. The core of urbanization, which is the most in-depth and revived,is the modernization of peopleg quality in urban areas. In order to do so, scientific protection, development and utility of historical and cultural resources are encouraged. In this way,there is an interactive bond between the modernization of peopleg qualities and the protection, development and utility of the resources. To ensure a healthy and scientific urbanization of the Pearl River Delta area, we should cope with their relationship warily.
