摘　　要： 通过研究明清广东顺德传统聚落中防御性空间的形态特征,分析形成这种空间的自然与人文因素,尤其是城镇形态与当地水系之间的紧密关系。该文还进一步探讨了顺德"水堡"与北方坞堡之间的异同,提出"尊重自然、创新求变"等当今空间设计上值得借鉴的方法。 Based on the study of the conventional settlements of Shunde, Guangdong province, in Ming ＆ Qing Dynasty, we analyze the natural and social factors which shape the form of these defensive space, and we also point out the especially close relationship between the urban form with the local wafer system. Further more, by exploring what is the differences and the similarities between Shunde ＂water fort＂ and the northern fortress, we educe the experience that is worth learning in today＇s space design： respect for nature and innovation.
