摘　　要： 在我国高校逐年扩招的背景下,大学英语超大班教学已成为英语教学者的难题之一。两年的超大班教学实验表明,只要有适当的教学方法和手段,超大班英语教学也能与大班甚至小班英语教学取得不相上下的效果与质量。超大班教学的方法可以分为两类:一是教学过程中培养学生学习英语的兴趣,包括英语学习的自信心、重视学生的语言实践和创造引人入胜的情景;二是培养学生的自主学习能力,包括开展多层次阅读与听力层阶化等自主训练模式、词汇学习联想化、建立英语辅导小组等。 With the yearly enrollment of students in an increasingly greater numbers at colleges and universities in China, college English teaching in extra large class has become one of the challenges for college English teachers. Experiments with classroom teaching in extra large class show that, with proper teaching approaches and strategies, comparable effectiveness and quality can also be achieved when classroom teaching is conducted in extra large class. The teaching methods in extra large class can be divided into two categories： one of them is to develop the students＇ interest in learning English in the teaching process , including developing their self-confidence, focusing on their language practice and creating spectacular situation and scenes to hold their interest; the other is to cultivate the students＇ self-study ability, including their multi-level reading and listening through self-training mode, and vocabulary learning association, and the establishment of English support teams.
