摘　　要： 人物话语是叙事作品在话语层面表达意义和态度的重要组成部分,往往能影响故事层面意义的解读。在英语小说翻译过程中对小说人物言语表达方式的不同处理可以显示出译者想要达到的表达效果。同样的话语如果采用不同的表达形式,就可能产生不同的意义。译者通过对话语层面的操控,从而影响人物思想及读者的态度和目的,并最终达到其审美目标,实现在目标文化规范中想要实现的意识形态内涵。 Speeches of fictional characters are an important part at the discourse level to express meaning and attitudes, and affect the interpretation of the story. The ways of translators to deal with the speeches can show the effect they aim to achieve. The same speeches in different forms can produce different meanings. Translators＇ manipulation at the discourse level can affect readers＇ attitudes and purposes towards the fictional speeches to achieve their aesthetic objectives and realize the ideological purposes in the target culture norms.
