摘　　要： 语言的使用受其所属文化各种因素的制约,跨文化交际常会因为母语与目的语之间的文化差异而导致语用失误。因此,语用失误是跨文化交际失败的一个重要原因。本研究通过对大学一年级文科学生和理科学生从文科专业学科不同背景进行语用失误量化调查,并从跨文化交际目标出发进行质性分析。最后指出大学英语教学应该转变教学观念,调整教学方向,要培养外语学习者的跨文化语用能力,并增强对目的语文化的敏感性和领悟力,以及加强语言实践性。 The use of language is greatly influenced by the cultural elements. The cultural differences between the source language and the target language lead to pragmatic failures in intercultural communications. This study conducted a quantitative and qualitative research and analysis from the intercultural perspective among freshmen majoring in liberal arts （LAS） and engineering （ES） to find out some possible reasons that resulted in pragmatic failures due to the different major factors. Based on the above, an urgent need to enhance their pragmatic competence and strengthen the understanding is highlighted. The college English teaching should improve its pedagogy and shift its focuses to cultivate pragmatic competence of Chinese English-learners and strengthen sensitivity to the culture of target languages and promote language performance.
