摘　　要： 公共图书馆推动城市文化建设是图书馆的职责和城市发展的内在需求。文章通过阐述公共图书馆与城市文化的关系,以及对佛山图书馆案例进行分析,指出公共图书馆在城市的学习、文化氛围的营造、公民权益的保障以及促进社会和谐等方面的价值和作用,并对公共图书馆在城市文化建设中大有可为做了思考。 To promote the urban culture construction,it is one of the responsibilities for the public library,and it is also the internal need of urban development.This article expounded the relationship between the public library and the urban culture,and analyzed the public library＇s value and function on building the studying and culture atmosphere,guaranteeing the civil rights and promoting social harmony.It also put forward farther reflections on the public library＇s promising effect on the urban culture construction.
