摘　　要： "粗"有两种名词性用法,"粗1"用作周长标指,"粗2"用作直径标指,两者分别源自于唐代和明代,其前身是周长标指"大","巨"在"大"的影响下,自汉代时就偶尔用作周长标指。这些用法此前尚未得到认真的探讨。 ＂Cu＂ has two nominal meanings, one refers to circumference, the other diameter. These two meanings originated in Tang Dynasty and Ming Dynasty respectively. Under the influence of ＂Da＂, ＂Ju＂ which is the predecessor of ＂Cu＂, had been used to refer to circumference since Han Dynasty. These usages had not yet been seriously discussed.
