摘　　要： 本文以作者先前开展的一项较大规模的跨文化语篇研究为例,集中讨论定性及定量分析方法在该领域研究中的应用。迄今为止,跨文化语篇的研究仍然较少采用定性及定量相结合的方法,因此本研究的开展对该领域研究拓展范围、创新方法具有一定的启示意义。这种基于缜密设计的研究不仅有较大规模的实验为基础,其研究设计和所采用的调查方法及数据分析工具等都具有一定的开创性意义和参考价值,对于从事跨文化语篇研究的人员亦具有实践意义及指导作用。 The purpose of this paper is to present the research practices in a large scale investigation into the preference for discourse patterns in the Chinese EFL learning context from the intercultural discourse perspective.The combination of qualitative and quantitative research design in the studies based on large scale data obtained from an experimental investigation tends to provide implications for further studies in discourse studies which usually rely on qualitative analyses.The detailed description of the research designs and analytical procedures is also intended to provide students in discourse analysis with practical research methods and techniques for their future reference when conducting further studies in this area.
