摘　　要： 本研究探讨基于警察行业需求的英语教学模式对阅读能力的影响。研究发现:阅读通用英语语篇时,实验班和两个参照班在阅读速度和阅读效能上没有显著差异。阅读警察行业专门用途英语时,实验班和两个参照班在略读、学习阅读和记忆阅读上的阅读速度存在显著差异;在阅读效能上,实验班和参照班在查读和略读上不存在显著差异,但在学习阅读和记忆阅读上存在显著差异。 This study explores the influence of the college English teaching mode based on police vocation＇s needs on reading rate and reading performance on five reading tasks in EGP and ESP. The teaching experimental results display that there is no significant difference in EGP＇s reading rate and reading performance between experimental class and two reference classes. In policing ESP＇s reading .rate, the three classes display significant variation in skimming, read to learn and read to memorize. In reading performance, there is significant variation in ESP＇s read to learn and read to memorize between experimental class and Reference Classl.
