摘　　要： 荀子所劝之"学",不是客观知识和生产技能的获得,而是学习礼义,是为了国家社会的安治、人格的提升和性习的形成,还可有精神上和功利上的好处。其"学"的目的,是使人形成遵守礼法的行为方式和人格特点,以及养成礼治的能力,以求由此达成其理想的礼法之治。其"学"的性质,不是主体性的知识学习和能力习得,而是教化、塑造。 Rejecting to learn the objective knowledge and productive skills, not to say the knowledge of sophists, Xunzi holds that the only thing man should study is liyi, which means etiquette and its correspondent doings. There are four ways to get it： studying classics, acquiring instructions and advices from good teachers and helpful friends, understanding all by Tao which can be known by the method called as ＂xu yi er ring＂, and accumulating, cultivating and acting so as to make a habit according to the knowledge. Xunzi holds that learning liyi is for the sake of governing a country well and having a great personality as well as moral character. It is good for the mental and the fortune. Basically, the learning that Xunzi argues aims at the governing which is carried out by li-law.
