摘 要: 作为度或当,"中"的基本义是"无过无不及",而"无过无不及"就是一种"极",其哲学的彻底性表现为不甘中游、力争最好,与折衷主义毫无共同之处;"中"在儒家是一个本体范畴,"庸"为用,中庸、时中、执中、守中、制中、择中都是体用关系;"中"作为一种心理机制即"和",既提示动机对于人格的重要性,又彰显知、情、意之间水乳交融的和谐性;"中"作为一种行为机制即行为选择的"正",时中要求"经"、"权"的统一;"中"之为德乃"兼德而至",人格境界"至诚无息"、"至诚如神",作为至善至真乃最高审美对象。 As a dimension or degree,the Confucian mean refers to the ultimateness,i.e.,neither of the extremes.Its philosophical implicature has little to do with compromising,while its mental interpretation renders peace,calmness and harmony for human personality.Moreover,it may refer to uprightness in behavioral restraints in realization of ultimacy.
