摘 要: 《圣经》原文由希伯来语和希腊语写成。希伯来语的"尼发希"(音译)和希腊语的"普绪克"(音译)通常被译作"魂"或"灵魂"。在《圣经》原文中,"尼发希"和"普绪克"指的是人或动物本身,有时也指人和动物的生命,而不是通常所谓的"魂"——人死后能继续存在的、某种非物质的东西。"魂"(soul)在现代英语及汉语中所传达的含义与希伯来语"尼发希"一词的含义大不相同,将"尼发希"及其希腊语译词"普绪克"译作"魂"是一种误译。这种误译主要是受希腊哲学,尤其是柏拉图哲学影响的结果。 The Bible was originally written mainly in Hebrew and Greek. "Nephesh" in Hebrew and "psyche" in Greek are generally translated as "soul" the part of a person that is believed to exist even after the body has died. However, when we examine the original meanings of the two terms, and the way they are used in the Bible, it becomes evident that those two words basically refer to people, animals, or the life that a person or an animal enjoys. A thorough study of the Bible also shows that nowhere in the entire Bible are the terms "immortal" or "everlasting" linked with the nephesh or psyche. Therefore, it is improper to translate the words into "soul", both in modern English and Chinese. This mistranslation is mainly the result of the Greek philosophy, especially Plato's philosophy.Key words.
