摘　　要： 经典的特殊品质使经典阅读具有丰富与提升人的精神世界的的功能,而经典的这种功能因与通识教育培养身心和谐、全面发展的人的期许相呼应而成为实施通识教育的重要法门。数字化时代,以数字图解或缩写的经典由于缺乏高度思维性的语言建构、深刻的内心体验和对人类生存真相的不断追问,显然不具有传统经典理性认知的深度和精神升华的品格,至于仅仅载体发生改变的经典,其所承载的文化力量并没有发生改变。因此,数字化时代经典阅读依然是开展通识教育的重要选择。 The goal of general education is to drive the all-round development of students.Human being is a matter of spiritual life,and nowadays the education trends more to utilitarian,practicality and mechanization,and less to concerning spiritual life,therefore,the modern general education should focus more on caring and enhancing the spiritual development besides emphasizing the acquisition of knowledge and skills.The innate character of classic works makes the reading of them an effective way to enrich and develop spiritual life of human being.This function of classic reading,echoing the expectation on the harmonized physical and spiritual development of people through general education,becomes the most important curriculum in the general education.There are many reasons why people drift away from the classic reading,and the digital media just add to its severity,for the digital imagery illustration and/or abridging of classic works have crippled the original linguistic rigor and complexity and semantic and philosophical insight,impaired the profound personal meditation and empirical cognition and interrupted the mankind＇s everlasting pursuit of the truth of its own existence.The author argues that the classic works will not lose its value despite the change of medium and that people should regain the great value of classic reading in building the spiritual world of hunman being and the classic reading is still an indispensable part of general education syllabus.
