摘　　要： 本文以域内映射理论为基础研究英语词类再范畴化现象,其中涉及名动互为转换、及物动词与不及物动词互为转换、名词的次范畴转换。转喻操作发生在矩阵域内,有源域寓于目标域转喻和目标域寓于源域转喻两种存在方式,前者是次域代替矩阵域,后者是矩阵域代替其中的一个次域。本研究揭示了英语词类再范畴化的转喻认知机制,系统地阐释了传统的语法理论所不能解释的语法现象。 Based on the theory of domain-internal conceptual mapping, this paper deals with the recategorization of English vocabulary, including verbalization of nouns and nominalization of verbs, subcategorical conversion of nouns, and intransitivization of transitive verbs and vice versa. Metonymy takes place within the matrix domain, with two types of mapping： source-in-target metonymy and target-in-source metonymy. The paper reveals the metonymic device of the recategorization of English vocabulary and explains some grammatical phenomena that can＇t be made clear by the traditional theory of grammar.
