摘 要: 美国《国家地理》杂志是当今全球最具影响力的科普性杂志之一,它素以严谨求实的科学态度闻名于世。本文以该杂志一篇描写伊拉克战争的报道为例,主要运用符号学原理并辅之以功能语法来分析《国家地理》的叙事风格,挖掘写实报道背后的隐形编辑,打破该杂志客观中立反映现实的神话,并对美国文化广泛传播的原因进行初探。 As one of the most influencing scientific magazines in the world, National Geographic is famous for its preciseness and realistic vision. Taking a report on Iraqi War for example, making use of semiotic theory mainly and functional grammar to analyze the narrative style of National Geographic ( henceforth NG. ), the thesis aims to dig out invisible edits underneath the realistic reports, breaks a myth that this magazine can reflect reality objectively and neutrally, and explores initially a reason of efficient spread of American culture.
