摘　　要： 文章试图对"元小说"这一当代西方文论关键词进行一次理论梳理。文章认为,一个对元小说比较全面的理解,应当兼顾其作为批评概念的稳定性与相对性。在这个立场的基础上,文章将此概念区分为元小说与元小说性,并提出前者是一个文学类别的概念,而后者是一个文本功能的概念,一个动态的小说发展史应当是上述两种视野相互补充的产物。 The author attempts to conduct a theoretical investigation into ＂metafiction＂ in this essay, one of the key words in contemporary Western literary criticism. It is held by the author that a comprehensive view of metafiction as a critical terminology should embrace both its stability and relativity. The author distinguishes metafiction from metafictionality on the basis of this stance and maintains that while the former falls into a literary genre, the latter is a concept of textual function. It is also argued that a mobile picture on the development of fiction should be the combined product of both perspectives.
