摘　　要： 公民意识是社会意识的一种存在形式,是在现代法治社会下逐步形成的民众意识和民本思想,它表现为人们对于"公民"作为国家政治、经济、法律等活动主体的一种心理认同与理性自觉。在现代中国社会,公民意识的培育已然是时代赋予大学教育的重要使命。大学要充分发挥教育引导功能,营造公民意识的良好氛围,要鼓励大学的公民社会组织的建立,倡导和参与社会服务。 Civil awareness is an existing form of social consciousness,public consciousness and the evolving thought of the people under the modern society,which represents a psychological identification and rational consciousness to ＂citizen＂ as the country＇s political,economic,legal and other activities.In modern Chinese society,the cultivation of civil awareness is an important mission of university education.University education should exert its guidance function,create good atmosphere for civil awareness,encourage to establish civil organizations,advocate and participate social services.
