摘　　要： 中国古代小说价值评估的参照标准有两个:一是"用",一是"真"。由于唐宋史学的强势影响,小说的真实性标准往往在小说价值评估中起了决定性的作用,但这种追求小说价值真实性标准的做法,在《四库全书总目》中不但没有得到贯彻,反而被淡化甚至被巧妙地"置换"了,纪昀据乾隆"实学"旨意,重新强调小说"神道设教"的用世价值,这使大量虚构性作品绕开真实性标准的检验而进入正统价值世界,从而获得一定限度的生存空间。 There were two standards to estimate the value of novels in ancient China.One was utility,the other was genuineness.Thanks to the strong influence of historiography in Tang and Song Dynasties,the standard of genuineness had played a decisive part in the evaluation of novels.But this standard was not taken into practice in Complete Library in the Four Branches of Literature.Instead,it was devalued and even replaced skillfully.In Complete Library in the Four Branches of Literature,with the guidance of Emperor Qianlong＇s pragmatics,Ji Yun reemphasized the utility of novels as the rite to educate people.This made mountains of fictional works enter the legitimate world without the estimation of genuineness so that fictional novels obtained some kind of living space.
