摘　　要： 《等待》这部小说被认为是美籍华人作家哈金最成功的作品之一。他在《等待》中表达了与存在主义哲学一致的主题与内容。本文尝试运用萨特和加缪的存在主义理论解读主人公孔林一等再等的原因。研究结果表明孔林十八年的等待是荒诞的外部世界的产物,他的第一次的等待是活在自我欺骗当中。而孔林的第二次等待反映了他真正的存在和对本真的追求。通过把读者带到主人公孔林的内心世界,哈金鼓励他们反思自己的生存状况和寻找通向"本真"和幸福之路。 Waiting is regarded as the Chinese American writer Ha Jin＇s most successful work.The thought Ha Jin expresses in Waiting is in accordance with existentialist philosophy.This thesis applies the existentialist concepts held by Sartre and Camus to the search for the answer to the following main question： How could Lin Kong＇s consequential waiting be justified？ The research result indicates that Lin Kong＇s first waiting is attributed to the enslavement by the absurd external world and the protagonist＇s self-deception.Yet Lin Kong＇s second waiting is a reflection of his ultimate authentic being and pursuit of authenticity.By leading the readers to the protagonist＇s inner world,Ha Jin encourages them to reflect on the conditions of their own existence and their ways towards authenticity and happiness.
