摘　　要： 语言究竟是一种客观存在,还是心理现象？上个世纪勃兴的逻辑实证主义和可及性理论在研究语言时虽然都借用了罗素的＂摹状词＂一说,但它们对语言存在的研究却采取的是不同的观点：前者把语言看作是纯粹的客观存在;而后者把语言看成是客观与主观相结合的产物。通过对从摹状词理论到可及性理论的发展演变的阐述,从哲学角度分析人们对语言认识不断深化的过程,进而揭示出人类认知世界的一般规律。 Is language an objective existance or a pschological phenonemon？ Based upon the ‘description’ theory put forward by Bertrand Russell, the Logical Positivism and Accessibility Theory,both thriving in the last century, take different points of view to explain the linguistic existence： the former regarding language as a purely objective existence while the latter regarding it as a combination of objectivity and subjectivity. The paper tries to analyze the cognitive process of human knowledge by examining the historic development from the description theory to accessibility theory, thus revealing the general law of human cognition.
