Methane activation over Mo/HZSM5 zeolite at high temperature has been studied by FTIR spectroscopy. At high temperature, methane became active and the adsorption bands of methane over Mo/HZSM5 zeolite shift to lower frequencies. Intermediate species was found using differential IR spectroscopic technique reaction times.
