摘　　要： 戊戌变法是中国近代一次重要的政治革新尝试。然而,由于以慈禧太后为首的守旧势力的反对,变法失败了。史学界探讨戊戌变法失败的原因时,一般认为,袁世凯的告密是促使慈禧太后发动宫廷政变的原因之一,这自然有所依据。但是,袁世凯告密仅仅是因为个人卑鄙,还是有某种不得已的客观因素,这是我们应该认真分析的。此外,客观地说,改良派决策方面其实也有不当之处,加剧了形势的复杂性。 The Wuxu Reform was an important political reform in Modern China.However,due to Governor Cixi＇s opposition,the reform failed.Some historians say that Yuan Shi-kai＇s information was one of the reasons for the failure.However,we should analyze the real reason of his betray：his own wicked characteristics,or other objective factors.Objectively,some of the weak points of the reformists complicated the situation.
