摘　　要： 通过调查"旁"在相关历史文献中的使用情况,我们发现:西周时期"广博"义是其常用义,春秋战国时期"侧旁"义产生并迅速发展,成为其常用义,汉代以后"广博"义逐渐萎缩,直至失去活力,仅存于古语词中,与此同时,由"侧旁"义引申出来的"其他"义出现,并一直使用至今。 After the discussion about the distribution and development of the meanings of the Chinese word ＂pang＂（旁）,the following conclusion is drawn.During West Zhou Dynasty,＂wide＂was its common meaning.In Spring and Autumn and the Warring States Periods,one of its meaning of＂side＂ emerged and was widely used.After Han Dynasty,the meaning of ＂wide＂ tended to die out.At the same time,the meaning of ＂other＂ was widely used and became another meaning of ＂pang＂（旁）.
