摘　　要： 隐喻是一种语言现象,也是人类思维和认知世界的方式。隐喻是词义产生的主要理据、是表达的机制、是同义和多义的来源。隐喻认知能够促进英语学习者认识和理解语言,培养隐喻思维能力和英语文化意识。 Metaphor is a linguistic phenomenon, and a human way of thinking and understanding the world as well. Metaphor is a main justification for meanings of a word, a mechanism of expression, and a source of synonyms and multiple meanings. Metaphorical cognition can promote the English learners＇ awareness and understanding of the language and cultivate their metaphorical thinking and cultural awareness in English.
