摘　　要： The use of statistics has received increasing attention in the studies of linguistics and applied linguistics. However,due to its complexity and preciseness,there are many problems of application of statistics. The present paper tries to discuss the application of statistics in a M.A. dissertation and aims to explain how to apply statistics to linguistics research normatively,scientifically,and precisely.
